This Croatia adventure holiday gave us confidence and connection. It was so nice being around other solo parents, and the activities were fun without being overwhelming. Croatia is breathtaking, and this was the easiest holiday I’ve ever done. Everything was organised for us by our wonderful guides Marinella & Josip.

Charming, fun and adventurous and that was just Barisa [our tour leader]. Joking aside it was an amazing holiday. As a solo Dad I was with other single parents who had teenage sons or daughters, and it made the whole week socially so much fun & relaxing. Omis was the perfect base with beach volleyball courts and even open-air cinema nights on some of the evenings.  All the activities were very short transfers, which we appreciated. The food in Croatia was great and lots of options for my daughter who is Vegetarian. Barisa as previously mentioned was our main tour leader and he was sensational.  We would like to come back and do another week of active fun in Croatia.

For single parents looking for an active holiday to keep your teenagers happy then this Croatia adventure holiday is ideal. We were a group of 6 families. A nice combination of solo parents and couples with lots of boys & girls of similar ages. Typically, between 12 to 18 years. We were based in a nice 4-star hotel on the coast in Omis. We arranged our own flights to Split and had a pre and post stay before the organised week. Barisa & Iva were our hosts and made my life so easy because they communicated and arranged everything for us. The white-water rafting was our favourite; followed closely by the Zip Lining. What a week; thank you again!

An epic adventure holiday in Croatia. Omis was gorgeous and Russo and Josip were the perfect hosts. As a solo parent I was a little nervous but they were so relaxed, professional and fun all at the same time. Everyone needs Croatia in their lives and Josip told us some many lovely stories about his region. My teenage daughters found the week so much fun and the little town we were in was extremely safe for them to explore.

I found Croatia Family holidays via a google search and they really delivered. I was looking for a company that could accommodate a single parent with two teenagers. My sons wanted something to keep them active & I wanted enough downtime to feel recharged. The Omis base was great. A 4 star hotel where all the other guests were booked in to. 5 minutes walk to the old town and a huge sandy beach is on your doorstep. The activities were mainly half day adventures so you would always have the morning or afternoon to relax. The only activity which is a full day out was Canyoning. My boys loved it. I found it challenging but rewarding. Thank you to all the great parents who made the holiday so much fun. We are all still in touch. Note the Extra bed placed in Twin Rooms takes up a little space, but is very comfy. So the trade off is fine if a family of 3 persons. Guides Russo and Sara are awesome.

Our Croatia activity holiday in Omis was magical. Omis is one of the prettiest places I have ever been too. So safe and charming. Our group was a mix of couples and solo parents. Many of us doing this type of holiday for the first time. My daughter & I found the whole experience enjoyable. There is a nice balance of organised activities with chill time. My daughter bonded well with the other teens on the trip and we felt like a big family by the end of the week. The pizza party by the river was an inspired idea. Parents and teens are all still in touch with each other!

It was marked as a Single parent friendly week and also teenager approved; so, it really worked for my son [15 years] & I. Our favourite activity was the river tubing. I booked with Croatia Family Holidays to do a 7 night active holiday in Dalmatia. We flew into Split and made our way to the hotel in OMIS. What a perfect location. Located right on the beach and close to the old town. The first evening our tour leaders Josip & Iva welcomed us and organised a welcome dinner where we met the other solo parents and teenagers. Mt daughter [16 years] sat with the other teenagers and soon made friends; whilst I got to know the other parents on the trip. There was a nice mix of parents, all coming for the same reasons. Everyone got on and our Tour Leaders set up a WhatsApp group so it made it easy to keep in touch throughout the week.

My review is as follows: My single parent holiday to Croatia was one of the highlights of the year. The weather was perfect, the guides were friendly and the scenery we got to see was nothing short of amazing. When I first arrived, I was a little skeptical how much I was going to enjoy myself. I need have not worried. Lots of mums and dads all in the same boat. The weather was perfect for riding, walking, swimming and chilling. This coupled with great company, great food, great activities, great everything made the week seem all the more amazing. Canyoning was our favourite activity for the whole family – seemed more adventurous than the other activities. Cycling was very good as well; it lasted for the right amount of time, with all the stops – great! Accommodation could improve if they include drying facilities in every room, otherwise the apartments were very good. It was fantastic that kids were allowed to use pool late at night! The reps were fab too. Listening to Croatian history and local knowledge of reps was very informative, interesting and added to the experience! Overall – excellent, thanks a lot! We booked this trip 4 years ago and I apologise for not leaving a review. This is a brilliant trip, your kids will love it. My only comment is that the route for kayaking should be more suitable for bigger kids (mine were 10 & 11 and struggled in the end). I am not the biggest fan of water but jokes and funny stories that Daniel was telling us along the way made the trip so much fun. I’m glad that my kids talked me into this, as we did see the parts of rural Croatia we wouldn’t usually ever get to see.

We were so lucky that we had such a funny and understandable tour leader. Marko made us all feel safe all the way through. We loved every second of the multi-active week! We hear this might be the last single parent adventure holiday in Croatia you might run, which is terrible news. We had a fantastic time, a lovely mix of mums and dads in the same boat. All the kids mixed well, with a few younger ones showing us parents up – doing the activities better than us! This is definitely a teenager activity holiday type experience. The activities team were awesome , enthusiastic and inclusive of all ages. The pool is great but not massive, and the beach is just a stroll away. We loved Brac island, and our favourite activities were SUP boarding and climbing. My daughter who is 14 years, said this was her best ever family holiday. Mum 1, Ex-husband 0.

I was really impressed how clean Croatia is. The people are friendly and love to show off their culture and traditions. Go before the mass tourism comes. Split was by far the best city, Dubrovnik was nice but over crowded at times. My teenagers are fans of Games of Thrones and they loved walking the routes of their favourite characters.

It’s really hard to say what our favourite day was. Sea kayaking was relaxing and scenic, canyoning was an explorers heaven and tubbing was laughs per minute. The views were stunning, the guides were friendly and the activities very varied to keep up our interest levels. My three teenagers were not bored. Top tips for parents, try to increase your fitness before hand. Some mums struggled and didn’t enjoy the experience as much as everyone else. You don’t have to be incredibly fit, but those that never exercise or carrying that chocolate timber, they might want to walk the dog a bit more. This is a family activity holiday after all. Overall this family activity holiday in Croatia was well planned and operated. Guides were all local and very friendly. My kids loved them! So did I !

The week was a very nice blend of adventure fun and relaxation. Podstana is a gem, with accessible taxis to Split for night time exploration and even more restaurant choice. The group gelled together very well, teenagers of similar ages and my two 10 year old girls loved the activities. Jennie our main rep was a magician with the teens, always keeping them entertained.
