Dobra dan, some reflections at the end of the week of Crotian biking. Many times during the week we had to pinch ourselves to remind us that this is real – this beauty, the wonderful people, God’s creation of this meeting of land and sea. Each day we cycled into a different village by the sea, hopped on our bikes and climbed from sea level, crossing the mountains and enjoyng the remarkable views of the neighboring islands and the company of our Aussie bike companions and the commentary and encouragement of Robert, our Croatian guide. When we finish biking, we have a shower and look for the deck chair with the best view and settle in until dinner is served. Last night in the resort town of Makarska, we went to a wonderful sidewalk restaurant on the square. They were accompanied by guitar and violin so it was very special. Today, sadly, is our last riding day. We will bike to s special spot, an old mill where a river (fresh water) and canyon run close to the sea. Often, we think as we head to special areas that we can now cross them off our wish list- not so with Croatia — we need to come back.

Having completed this wonderful family active holiday in Omis with you, I felt I should write and report in. First off, theHotel 4 star Plaza Omis is as your website descriptions. Being a couple in our 50s we did enjoy the company of both our generation. The other parents were active, open and up for a great time. The activities were interesting at times, exhilarating most of the time and always with a friendly leader. Split was a great start and end point, as we enjoyed both pre-post nights there. Of the Islands, Brac was my personal favourite. Ziplining and rafting our favourite days. Danno, Russo and Barry are great hosts.

Great fun, hotel food excellent and the tour leaders friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend this teenager active week to any family. The hotel had all the mod-cons, well furnished and fully stocked with what you needed. Breakfast times were extremely good, and very unlike typical holidays we’ve done in the past, my two teenagers were up and ready for the day ahead. As a family with older teenagers, we found the right blend on this adventure week in Omis. The rooms were spacious and air conditioned and the ensuite has a beautiful shower. We never felt cramped, or over crowded and loved the vibe. Certainly a mixture of ages, but that only added to the atmosphere. Thumbs up, so thankyou again.

You don’t need to pack much for this canyoning trip. Shorts and vest for travelling and dry stuff for your return. Just go with a fun attitude, and you’ll meet so many people so easily. Often family groups are put together, so buddying up your kids is easy. We relaxed together in the canyoning, a genuine atmosphere of strangers just getting along in nature. Great day canyoning with your agency, it is totally worth trying.

Many fond memories have been taken away from this kayaking trip. Without a doubt canoe and sea kayaking were awesome. The first day is quite hard but soon your in your zone and rhythm. What I loved the most about our white water rafting experience was the fact that guides were so much fun. Rafting can be a hard work, but with all the splashing, jumping of the rocks, little ‘race’ they do in the end, it was anything but hard work. Great day out on the sea!

At first, we wanted to do a week of sailing in Croatia, but in the end we stayed on the mainland and booked sailing tour to Brac which proved to be great decision. We were able to see so much in such a short time, thanks to the wonderful crew. We visited bays, swam in the deep blue and even saw dolphins on the way back! And we couldn’t agree more. If you get a guide like our Ivona, you will actually find out a lot about European history, not only about Dubrovnik. She showed us one of the best local taverns in Dubrovnik, which we would never be able to find ourselves.

Although we cycled on a quite hot day in June, we did enjoy our cycling tour. We stopped often to rehydrate and to grab a bite. Our guide Marko was great, he encouraged us to stay on the bike through some of the small hills en route, when we thought we’d rather be walking than cycling. We booked this tour as a party of 8, with two people in their 60s . I’m highlighting this to let others know that this activity can be fun for kids as well as for adults. Sea kayaking tours require some hard work, although we were really blessed with the weather, I imagine this could be harder work if there would be any wind. What I enjoyed the most about kayaking is seeing Podstrana from the sea. Our guide Marija gave us many interesting and fun information throughout and made it into a little quiz as we were paddling. Kids loved the jump stops, we decided to be ‘photographers’ instead. All in all, 5 stars!

Sorry for taking me this long to write back. Our climbing day was good, the only thing we had a problem with was the heat, but that was expected. If it wasn’t that hot, we would’ve gotten to climb another rock, but we were still happy with the experience. I need to point out that our guide, Russo, made a big difference. What a funny and intelligent guy, with a great sense of humour. I swear at certain points, we had to stop climbing and just stand there and laugh at the jokes. We are lucky we came across him, please send our best to Russo!

The family horse riding trip is perfect for families with kids. Our 12 and 17 years old both loved it, and it’s so hard to find something they both agree on these days. Previous to coming to Croatia the first time we had done sea kayaking was in Spain. We like to meet people that share the love of sports and nature. Our kids are sporty and socialable, so love the challenges of the sea. I’d highly recommend this sea kayaking tour, its good for ages that spread across the board. One of my bug bares was that you have to be 18 years plus to drive. My two teens had to be passengers, so lots of moaning going on. Saying that, the circuit is fun and varied. The best thing they did for the quad biking course though I believe is Jakov the guide. Amazing banter from start to finish. We love being active on holidays and doing jeeps and quads is super fun. I hear the best time to try quad biking tours in Croatia is May time due to the colours of plants. I hope that helps.

This was our second activity booked, we we’re originally booked to go on the sea kayaking trip but weather was too windy. Our hosts said it was a rarity in Dalmatia, but hey ho, it was no problem to try Horse riding. Our first thoughts were that it wasn’t going to be a good fun, but it turned out to be a lot of giggles. By the end of the session, we were trotting and making friends with our horses. My two teenager daughters loved the experience.

I would write a long review of our experience, but in very short i can say we had a great time out there in Croatia. Ante is a cheerful host, very nice man and helpful person, and the apartment itself comfy and modern. What really is fantastic are the activities and tour leaders. Podstrana also is a great location. Lovely port area, gorgeous beach and close to Split. There are some fantastic sports and playground facilities nearby to. We liked the social side to this active family holiday and would consider repeating.

Quad bikes tour in Split and surrounding area is firmly fixed for families. This is not an extreme high octane event, so mange expectations. My 15 year loved it, but my 13 year old daughter was not that impressed. Teens are hard to please. We met other families who were experiencing a bigger 2 week tour and they convinced us to do the same next year. We liked your Tour Leader Russo and driver Jakov, nice team and nice selection of activities on offer.

Canyoning the Cetina water source was one of the highlights to our family trip to Croatia. We are quite into our active vacations since my children are in their late teens. Canyoning really got them buzzing. The guides were easy going and easy on the eyes. We saw kids as young as 10 years do the canyon no problem, and noticed some bigger parents struggle. I wouldn’t recommend this canyon experience to unfit people, as there is lots of physical fun. All the transfers worked well and we liked Josip our main guide the most.

White water rafting was exciting and probably the most memorable activity and day of our family holiday in Croatia. The activities were low impacting on the nature and we saw guides making a conscious effort to collect litter if they saw it. This is a Green thinking company that focuses on fun and families. Be prepared to sweat and be social. The food was enjoyed by all my family members, but I think Croatia is a lot more focused on meat than it is on vegetarians, maybe this can be improved. However, the fish was some of the best ive ever had. So fresh and huge portions. Not every place takes credit cards, so cash is still king.

Our zip lining tour was very nice and rewarding. Our guide Antony was easy going and talkative. It’s not an easy walk, so unfit people will struggle with the hill climbs to start points. The view points are just amazing and we’ve uploaded more pictures to your TripAdvisor page. The driver stopped for coffee on the way back to the hotel, which was a nice touch.

Dubrovnik was brilliant, a very iconic place to visit. The red rooftops of the city and old town walls are really spectacular. We walked a lot and joined the Games of thrones city tour. There are many lovely boutique shops and the restaurants were surprisingly inexpensive. We had a lovely bottle of white wine for only £12.00 right in the heart of the city. This is a day trip we would recommend to other families. But ultimately we preferred Split, which has a lot more going for it, especially for teenagers and kids.

We were a family of six and booked canoe safari in August. Our driver was polite and on time, collecting from our hotel. At the start point we were met by Tomo our guide, who was very friendly and gave lots of attention to safety. Then we launched in to fun, fun, and more fun. This was perfect for our kids, who didn’t struggle but surprisingly two mums in our groups were very unfit. My only top tip. Be fit. Don’t think this trip is a free ride.

The white water experience was a super formula of rapids and rocks, spills and mega thrills. We liked meeting other families with similar backgrounds, and we also liked bonding with our kids. Teenagers are hard to please and this was a winner. We will be booking your teenager activity holiday next year for 100%. We were 100% happy with the canyoning tour. Drivers were polite and punctual and our Tour Leader Kevin was super. This has to be part of any Croatia family activity holiday. The cetina canyons just breath taking. It was thrilling, possibly out of this world at times. Be fit. Be positive. Be grateful to have the opportunity to be there. We loved canyoning and we loved the eco-minded attitude of the guides.

This is easy level riding only, so people with experience won’t lose this trip. They provide all equipment and the staff are very nice. The horses are in great condition. My daughter had a great time, I was a little bored. But if she is happy, I’m happy. The tour was exactly how advertised.

The sailing tour was a lovely surprise booked by my husband for me and the kids. It was my 50th birthday and a super surprise. I like the fact the kids bonded with the other children and parents could relax. Most of the families already knew each other as they were part of a one week adventure, but they were nice and easy going and we felt included. I didn’t love the quad biking, it felt a bit too fast and furious for my tastes. We much preferred your sea kayaking and white water rafting tours. It might be right for older teenagers, but not for small kids. The Quad bikes are powerful and the instructors very good, but its frustrating for kids not to be able to drive. Its scenic and varied and very dusty at times. Bring dusk mask or scarf. Wear old clothes. Make sure you have insurance. Try to book far in advance, as we only got our slot due to cancellation. Apparently, this is very popular. But overall, the tour delivered on its promises, it just wasn’t for me. My husband had a ball.

The day trip to Dubrovnik was very nice. Mini bus was air conditioned, clean and comfortable. Our driver Jakov was professional and was happy to tell us more about Croatia’s history. He was happy to stop at scenic positions to take pictures and stopped for food when requested. Dubrovnik is definitely worthy of a day trip, but be prepared for the crowds. Overall, I’d say Dubrovnik was more for the parents than the kids. So we’ll give this day 3 stars. Maybe more ideas for kids and teenagers.

Our family had a lovely zip-line day with you guys. Tommo our guide was very knowledgable and went out his way to help us. We had an authentic Croatian meal under the peckar and sampled many other delights. From zippiness and hiking the hills, we also did some coastal explorations on Brac island. Tommo talked about conservations and encouraged s to collect plastic. Remember to bring: ruck sack, water, sun cream, hat and snacks. I would recommend this for 12 – 18 year olds, accompanied by parents. Omis zipline office only takes cash, so beware of this.

Our wind surfing instructor Ivo was a legend. Our family loved the whole experience. After failing terrible as a collective in Turkey 4 years ago, we thought we’d try it again. I guess Wind surfing holidays in Croatia are more for us hahah! We don’t like classic beach holidays, so doing active things is a must for us. We also can recommend StandUp paddle boarding, which was very different to wind surfing but offered lots of family entertainment.

Canoe safari was fantastic fun, pitched just right for families. Your guides even took us to a fab beach afterwards and hung around for 2 hours, so they could drive us all home together. Some paddles were a bit big for the kids and i would maybe offer sandwiches half way. But overall, this was a nice activity to book.

If you haven’t been to Croatia, then you must go! If you are going to go, then book with Croatia Family Holidays. Apart from the bus driver that got us lost on the way to climbing (it was funny though), this family activity holiday is the best we’ve experienced in Europe (now our 6th trip). Brac island is delightful, and without mass tourism. The water is gorgeous, you can literally spend hours swimming and snorkelling and not get cold. Our favourite activity was SUP boarding and the climbing (when we got there lol). Really well organised and many thanks to Russo, and Dan the Man.

This was a very memorable holiday, possibly our best. Although this is not 5 star accommodation, the apartments are in wonderful locations, very safe, and have all the modern facilities – bu for this families that can afford luxury hotels, please remember this is an adventure Croatia family vacation.  The welcomes meals and farewell meals were all in different locations, so we felt like we really getting to see more of Croatia at every twist and turn of the activity holiday. Your staff and guides really go the extra yard, to create an authentic experience. We really appreciated this. Our favourite guide is impossible to say. On the island of Brac we had Russo and Daniel, representing the mainland adventure week (our second week) there was the fabulous Sara and Maria. My boys said the boat trip was their favourite day, but as a family we absolutely loved rafting and SUP boarding. It was nice to connect with my two boys and not to feel like I was cramping their style.

Canyoning was the first activity we booked with your guide Jelena, who took us through flowing rapids and deep canyon pools. We have three teenagers loved the climbing, jumping and splashing. I really can’t remember another time, when i’ve heard them laughing and smiling this much!  FYI (other parents reading) The jumps vary in height from 1m to 9m along a 4km stretch of the Cetina canyon. The good news for nervous parents – there is no pressure, as you can avoid all the hard sections (so you don’t have to do large jumps). It’s a great day out, i would recommend this for family adventure holidays and inspiring day tours.

Canyoning in Croatia was our family highlight. First you drive into the idyllic Dalmatia countryside along farmyard tracks and empty roads. We had extra time, so the driver stopped and we visited a small fortified site along the way.  Once at the canyon centre, we got kitted out and had all the safety briefings. We were not worried about routes and getting lost as this was fully guided experience. We really enjoyed the company of your guides and made alot of new friends, which was great for my children (ages: 11yrs, 13yrs and 19 yrs). Our 3 teenagers loved the whole canyoning tour and we only wished we had booked a complete active holiday, and not just this one tour. Maybe we’ll visit one of your adventure bases next summer!

Last year our family decided to spend a few days on a self cycle and thoroughly enjoyed it. The balance of changing locations was out weighed by the positives, but packing etc everyday was a little annoying – so this got me to researching guided trips. Luka, our main travel contact at your company, did a great job in giving me honest advice and counsel over the phone and was a reassuring presence throughout the booking. Sevid was a quiet village, about forty minute drive from the airport. We were met by your staff and introduced to other guests already arrived there. Meals were much better than expecting, being a three star apartment I didn’t set the bar high, I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were cleaned daily, bright and colourful, maybe bathrooms were a little tired but always clean. We didn’t have a bath, but that’s a small gripe. Our tour leader was helpful, questions answered with a smile, the days were well planned and well paced. If you like cycling and want to discover Croatia, you can’t go wrong with this trip, i just wished the standard of accommodation was of a higher standard, as we are used to 4 or 5 star properties.

We went for your family Dubrovnik ‘Games of Thrones’ experience with a stop in Omis to try climbing. All of us loved the trip and met some lovely families from the UK. It’s a great day tour and Dubrovnik is a delight. The longish bus ride is challenging enough for parents, but nothing we couldn’t cope with. Dubrovnik is perfectly safe, beautiful and great exercise to walk the whole old town walls. We had booked a lot of excursions in Europe and this one, is really worth its price. The only small criticism we would have is that the group was too big (5 families) but the guides were professional enough to manage the group efficiently.

The route is well thought out, with our guide showing points of interests all the way along. We biked through the city, reaching the top of Marjan Hill park and then rode through some of the Split UNESCO old town. Our biking guide was very caring and showed a lot of support to Benny my youngest son. She was called ‘Tina’ and we can’t praise her enough. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and super friendly to the kids on the tour. We got to experience the history of Split as well as the raw beauty of Dalmatia region. I’m giving the tour 3 out of 5 stars, as it should be advertised for older children. My youngest struggled and didn’t love it. Overall, it was a good experience and thanks again Tina.

My favourite activity we tried was the white water rafting we did with you. This was great fun and our guide ‘Rory’ was hilarious. He looked after us and was brilliant with the teenagers. He was soaking us all the time, whilst rafting. The water was crystal clear and so clean you could drink straight from it. I’ve heard mixed reports from friends about White water rafting. Some of my friends have told horror stories of whirl pools and grade 5 drops into a white abyss and other friends have told quite contrasting stories, about mild waters & a disappointing time. Well, i’m glad to report, that the Cetina river offers the perfect balance. The rapids are grade 3, so challenging and exciting (but not life threatening). The experience was nothing but positive and we screamed and shouted the whole way down. At the end, hugs & hi-fives! Of course!

Our only disappointment was the choice for vegetarians at the lunch, not a great deal on offer and that did affect our energy as a family. But overall a good experience. The horse riding was slightly disappointing for the adults compared to the kids enjoyment, couldn’t you do two separate tours at the same time? The tour was good thanks. The bus routes were scenic, so a great blend of views as you travel to dubrovnik. After the Games of Thrones city tour, we booked cycling. Found the overall 3-4 hours of peddling to be the right leisure amount. I’d say cyclists need to be reasonably fit to enjoy the experience, my boys had no trouble but being the old timer my legs were a little tired by the end of the day. The trip was very affordable now I look back at the cost. The food was typical Croatian, simple, delicious and big portions. We were told the salads are just to hide the meats haha

My two sons loved the day to day challenges and it was great to see them get amongst the local people and feel the culture. Fabulous time on this Family Croatia sea kayaking holiday, bettering my expectation of a one centre based holiday. For the last 3 years I’ve booked a self guided kayak tour for my family of 4 and neighbours family, as we do prefer a mixture of accommodations (that we research). However, it was nice to only check-in once and only unpack once! The main issue for us, is variation of routes. We were promised exciting and varied days on this trip and I can whole heartedly support that this is what’s on offer. Better yet, we had our own personal guide to do the route planning and leading and it did feel at the hotel we had our own personal chef. By the 3^rd day at the hotel, the lovely Dragna had already memorized our breakfast order and was swiftly delivering it to the table! Hotel is nothing more than 3 stars, its fine. The food exceptional, free wifi and supermarket next door. It’s surrounded by walk and bike trails and sits on a picturesque river. After experiencing a guided trip, I would definitely consider another, but must be convinced about the routes and terrain. The Dalmatia is an unspoilt region, people are friendly and local produce is fresh! Everyone commented that your company has the right knack to deliver the personal touch, thankyou from all of us.

The amount of times I drove past someone taking a picture and saying ‘WOW’ – well if I had a pound, for every time, I might have paid for this Quad biking tour! So many special stops, its very difficult to choose a particular place of preference in my mind. The countryside here is unbelievably stunning. The canyoning is beautiful, but you don’t get time to enjoy its beauty as you are too busy sweating and huffing and puffing. I can’t believe this is sold for families, as its absolutely exhausting. I felt the guides were not helping me enough and it should have been explained we were going to have to be in wet suits the whole time. I had a very embarrassing time getting my fuller figure into the suit. We were only told to bring swim wear and dry clothes to change back into, so more information would have been better. I will not be recommending this to other families.

Accompanied by two dedicated zip line guides, you feel safe at all times. We zip lined along well-defined routes and over the Cetina river. All in the Omis valley. There are few longer descents, which you’ll love. It was a great day out zip lining in Croatia. My teenage boys loved the day, and my youngest ‘Alice’ who is 8 years kept up. It was well balance route. Would recommend.
