The main mountain range for hiking in Croatia is the Dinnaric mountains which runs parallel to the coastline. Its highest peak is a majestic 1831m above sea level. One of the best hiking spots for Croatia activity holidays is the Ucka Mountain between Istria and Kvarner. Its pronounced ooch-ka and can be found directly from Lovran or Opatija. The Risnjak National Park offers some good hikes in the summer, Biokovo Mountain, Mt Biokovo behind Makarska and the National park base in Starigrad.

Head off the track this summer with a fantastic hiking adventure tour in Croatia. Trek the beautiful Adriatic region of the Dalmatia, with our friendly guides!
Walk and soak up all the spectacular sights and enjoy some fun activities along the way. Breathtaking views are guaranteed and a superb picnic lunch.
Our hiking tour was very nice and rewarding at the top. Our guide Antony was easy going and talkative. Its not an easy walk, so unfit people will struggle with the hill climbs. The view points are just amazing and we’ve uploaded more pictures to your TripAdvisor page. The driver stopped for coffee on the way back to the hotel, which was a nice touch. It was great to see rural village life.

Our family had a lovely hiking day with you guys. Tommo our guide was very knowledgable and went out his way to help us. We had an authentic Croatian meal under the peckar and sampled many other delights. From hiking the hills, we also did some coastal explorations on Brac island. Tommo talked about conservations and encouraged s to collect plastic. Remember to bring: ruck sack, water, sun cream, hat and snacks. I would recommend this for 12 – 18 year olds, accompanied by parents.

Maria straightaway is very approachable and responds quickly to sort things out on e-mail, as was the local staff on site. I know we made a few changes prior to travelling and Croatia Family Holidays were very patient – thank you again Maria. Our children enjoyed the challenging routes more than myself, but overall the balance was right for pretty much all of us.

Accompanied by a dedicated and friendly walking guide, who lets your family set the pace and really brings the hiking route to life for you. We walked predominantly along well-defined routes (our choice as family) and beside the Cetina river and along the Omis valley. There are few harder working ascents and deep descents and you pass through very authentic, still villages where traditional ways of life continue. It was a great day out. My teenage boys loved the walking day tour, and my youngest ‘Alice’ who is 8 years kept up. It was well balance route. Would recommend.

To explore the countryside of Croatia, discovering more far-reaching views and old town was a holiday highlight. We walked at our own pace accompanied by your own Croatian guide who knows the mountain paths intimately. Gio was really helpful and fun with the kids. He really did bring the walking day alive for you. Many thanks guys

This is the perfect way to discover this magnificent country. One of the highlights of our family activity holiday in Split. We loved the high mountains, coastal walks and the woodland treks. Many people talk about the islands and Croatia’s sea, but the in-land is breath taking!
